Continuing our best dishes of 2017, here are ten more from Spring/Summer last year (and in case you missed it, here’s Part 1)…
First up is the Meat Platter from The Queens Arms. For me, this was the perfect platter – enjoy it with a nice glass of red.
The second dish on our list was also from The Queens Arms, it was the best Panna Cotta I had in 2017!
A short walk from The Queens Arms away is Element, it’s not that well known, but it does some cracking food – including this Guinea Fowl Supreme with Morteau Sausage.
Honeycomb & Co is in the location of an old Edinburgh ice cream parlour, so it feels right that this Pomegranate & Raspberry Sorbet makes the list.
My favourite meat free dish of 2017 – Spelt and Wild Garlic Risotto with Tempura Purple Sprouting Broccoli and Parmesan Crisps from Wedgwood.
It’s back to Honeycomb & Co once more for the best Chocolate Fondant of the year (in fact, maybe all years!)
The Chicken Tikka at Dishoom is epic! That is all.
Sometimes the best dishes are the most simple – this Baked Isle Flottante from The Wee Restaurant was simply exquisite, just meringue, creme anglaise, strawberries, and toasted almonds.
Once again it was simplicity winning the day with this Iberico Pork dish from The Pompadour by Galvin. The Amalfi lemon puree was the perfect accompaniment.
And finally for Part 2 of our Best Dishes of 2017, we are ending on the Notorious P.I G – the best hot dog in Edinburgh? We think it might be – get it at The Whistlestop Barber Shop.
