Burger restaurants seem to be appearing in Edinburgh at a rate of knots. On Lothian Road there are two on opposite sides of the road! Byron burger sits on the Lyceum side, promising proper burgers on the lovely turquoise signage, looks the part. A large space filled with stylish furniture gives off a very premium feel.
Deciding on a burger to have was a tough choice as the selection to choose from all sounded excellent. There were good starter choices too, and we went for Buffalo Wings and Nachos to share.
We eventually settled on the Byron Burger, loaded with dry cure bacon, lettuce, Cheddar Cheese, tomato and red onion with special Byron Sauce.
I had the Smoky Burger, with crispy fried onions streaky bacon with smoky chilli BBQ sauce. Both burgers were cooked really well and the buns hold up really well to the awesome sauces and don’t go soggy and fall apart.
The choices on the kids menu were really good, Erin decided to have the Kids Classic Burger which she really enjoyed.
Instead of getting the usual fries, we got a portion of Onion Rings to share. It was a good call because they were the best onion rings we’ve ever had. They were crispy, with onion seeds through the batter that almost gave them a curry taste. I’d go back just for them!
Byron delivers on what it promises on the sign, proper burgers. They’re a little more expensive but delicious. All round, we loved it here.
