We attended a show at the jazz festival a few weeks back, Davina and The Vagabonds, if you love jazz they are well worth seeing. After a G&T in the Edinburgh Gin garden (a nice addition to St Andrews Square this year) we walked down George Street and onto Charlotte Street to find somewhere to eat. Côte’s two course menu for £10.95 caught our eye and seemed like the perfect pre-festival dinner.
Th Salt Cod Croquettes weren’t as salty as I expected, they had a smooth texture and a gentle fish flavour which worked well with the mayonnaise style sauce.
My Pea Soup was really filling, especially as I ordered a side of their freshly baked sourdough for dipping!
The Mussels were a good portion, served in a broth that had a paprika flavour. They were served with some more of that moreish sourdough.
I opted for the Chicken Breast and Mash, the dish came to life with the sauce vierge which was really zingy with a good bit of garlic. A simple dish that was really satisfying.
