A couple of months ago I was invited by my friend Becky, from English Mum, to join her on a foodie trip to Walt Disney World, Florida. Our mission? To discover the dining options around Disney World!
Our VIP trip began at the Virgin Clubhouse Lounge. Here we enjoyed a breakfast of Eggs Benedict and Breakfast Martinis.
After a quick manicure we were onboard our Virgin Atlantic flight to the sunshine state.
We were staying at Disney’s Beach Club, a New-England style hotel resort which has a really relaxed vibe. It was the same hotel I stayed at during my very first blogger trip to Disney World so it holds special memories for me.
We were surprised to a room full of goodies including chocolate covered strawberries and a White Chocolate Mickey Mouse – the familiar Disney magic had begun!
Our first dinner was at Yachtsman Steakhouse, a New-England style steakhouse located within the Beach Club Resort. The great thing about dining in a large group is having the opportunity to share food and try lots of different dishes. Our host, Dave, spared no time in ordering up lots of starters for us to try.
One of the things I most look forward to when visiting America is having a steak, so I opted for the Black Angus Filet Mignon which was served with mash and a Cabernet wine sauce.
On the side we ordered a portion of Truffle Macaroni Cheese, which was made with orecchiette pasta which originates from Southern Italy and Reypenaer cheese which comes from the Netherlands. The dish was topped off with fried onion strings.
A dessert was out of the question. We waddled back to our room very satisfied indeed, and looking forward to the rest of our culinary tour of Walt Disney World.
