The Epicurean Restaurant is the fine dining option onboard Britannia. With a surcharge of just £28, it’s well worth treating yourself.
To get us in the mood we had a pre-dinner cocktail in The Crow’s Nest which is right next door to The Epicurean Restaurant.
There are two menus which rotate for the duration of your cruise. We visited on a night when Menu B was featuring.
Mango lollipop amuse bouche
Buttered green and white asparagus with crisp deep fried egg and textures of bacon ham and pancetta – one of my favourite starters this year, a perfect balance of flavours and textures.
Loin of wild boar with a smoked pork cheek croquette and Lancashire black pudding – my first time eating wild boar and it was delicious.
Crème brûlée and white chocolate sphere with raspberry pearls, chocolate, candy floss and caramelised popcorn – a dessert that makes you feel like a kid in a sweet shop, and I loved the bit of table side assembling.
Finally, a selection of Petit Fours, and a very full belly!
