Eteaket
May 24, 2017

I have gotten right into loose leaf tea recently. I used to be a real coffee fan but after giving up caffeine (because of an illness), I made the switch to tea and was looking for something special to replace my weekend Nespresso fix.

eteaket is an Edinburgh brand, so one I’m keen to support and get involved with.

I went along to the eteaket concept store on Rose Street and bought myself a nice new teapot and some of their loose leaf teas and I haven’t looked back!

eteaket also have a tea shop located on Frederick Street which has a great reputation as a place to go if you enjoy your tea. I decided to take my daughter along with me for a visit, she loves baking and all things cake, so this was right up her street!

eteaket serves a range of food which includes toasted ciabattas, salads, high tea, and afternoon tea.

Eteaket Edinburgh

High Tea

The High Tea is a smaller version of the Afternoon Tea (£15.95, pictured at the top) and includes a half sandwich, scone with Devonshire clotted cream and Scottish raspberry jam, a mini patisserie and the pot of tea. The portion was generous and only cost £8.95 which I think is really good value.

Pulled Pork Burger

We also tried the Pulled Pork Burger & BBQ Sauce which was served on a brioche bun. This was really tasty if you fancy something more savoury before you move onto the tea and cake.

Flowering Tea

Rose Flower Blossom

The tea menu, as you’d expect, is extensive and incorporates Black, Green, Oolong, White, Rooibos, White, and Flowering Tea.

Here are my recommendations:

Black Tea – Chocolate Abyss
Green Tea – Blooming Marvellous
White Tea – Silver Needle
Rooibos Tea – Chilli Rooibos
Flowering Tea – Rose Flower Blossom
Limited Edition – Jumpin’ Jackfruit and Almond

During the summer they also have iced tea, and I even noticed a sign saying they are doing teapot cocktails now!

White Peach Iced Tea

If you want somewhere you can really enjoy your tea, definitely head along to eteaket, you won’t be disappointed.
