New Moon Dinner at The Secret Herb Garden
July 19, 2016

Summer in Scotland can be fleeting, and that’s being kind, quite often it is non-existent. The planets must have aligned for the New Moon Dinner (do planets actually align for a New Moon?) at the Secret Herb Garden. Anyway, let’s just say that the weather was perfect. As we’d booked this several weeks in advance we were surprised and basked in not only the sunshine, but our expert planning.

Secret Herb Garden

Dinner was an informal affair provided by Union of Genius and Crema Caravan, both of which I’d been keen to try. Hot options at the Union of Genius truck included a chicken, pork and vegetarian option.

This was complemented with a table of salads. bread and pesto. The food was all fresh and delicious and really lent itself to eating outside, or in the greenhouse as we did.

The potting shed became a temporary bar for the night serving gin, wine, and their own beer.

The Secret Herb Garden itself is gorgeous, sit outside on the benches, inside in the greenhouse, or take a rug and lay out under the stars – yes, it IS that romantic! A total escape from the city.

New Moon Dinner

Dessert was provided by Crema Caravan, crème brûlée burnt to order.

As night fell, we relaxed into our couch and enjoyed the live band in the greenhouse.
