Something a bit different today, I was approached by My Prep to see if I would like to trial their meal delivery service. My Prep specialises in meals that are carefully prepared to assist with fat loss or building muscle. I’ve been on a bit of a health kick recently and the concept interested me so I agreed to give it a try.
As per their message my delivery of freshly prepared meals arrived on time. Everything was clearly marked and vacuum packed to keep it fresh.
It just so happened that the My Prep delivery arrived when my cupboards were bare and I was starving so I cut open the plastic on my first meal – Chicken Breast With Squash and Sage Puree, Charred Leek and Orzo (pictured above). It reheats in the microwave so was ready in minutes.
I have said before how fussy I am when it comes to ready meals, but the first dish passed the test. It tasted fresh, and that’s really important to me. The second thing I noticed was the ingredients were good quality, it didn’t feel like they’d created the cheapest dish possible – it tasted homemade.
I chose dishes from the fat loss menu, this was the Beef Stroganoff with Wild Rice. All of the nutritional information is on their website, from what I could see most dishes on this menu were around 350 calories. For the week I tested the meals, I got into the routine of going to the gym and then having one of my fat loss meals when I got in. It was great not to have to worry about preparing a meal from scratch and knowing that it was nutritionally balanced for my weight loss goal took the pressure off so I could focus on the exercise part.
I have to say I was impressed with the range, if I lived alone I think I would definitely use My Prep to supplement my own meals and help me achieve my health goals.
