We arrived in La Coruna to drizzle, we had a hike booked in the Atlantic Forest and aving seen the weather from our balcony, we had low expectations for the day ahead.
We had no idea of the stunning scenery that awaited us. We hiked alongside a river, and while the weather was mixed, it felt great to be outside and in the middle of a forest.
The banks of the river had flooded so we were forced to take a bit of a detour up quite a steep incline. Our excursion took us high up until finally we reached an ancient monastery where we enjoyed a local beer and some tortilla. It was a wonderful experience, and reminded me how important it is to get out into nature, Becky and I felt pretty proud of ourselves when we reached the summit.
Back on board Britannia we were ravenous and dinner at Atul Kochar’s Sindhu awaited us.
Before we sat down to dinner, we toasted ourselves (that was a big hike for us!) with a Benares cocktail in the lounge at Sindhu.
Cottage Cheese Pakora amuse bouche.
Shammi Kebab – spiced lamb cakes with mint and tamarind chutney
Karara Kekda – crisp fried soft shell crab with tomato, cucumber and passion fruit salsa
Atul’s Signature Plate – lamb rogan josh, chicken murgh kesari korma, cod jal pari
Rhubarb Soufflé with a Pistachio Crumble Topping

A well deserved feast after so much exercise!
