Foundry 39 on Queensferry street offers an awesome selection of gourmet burgers that will get the taste buds tingling. The “Black & Gold” with black pudding and cheese is a must try.
Using locally sourced Scotch Beef from Simon Howie, these 6oz burgers and juicy and well cooked. Offering classic choices including the BBQ burger and some daring choices such as the ominously named “Chilli Death” at very good value. This is a great place to get a good beer and a great burger.
These burgers are lovingly created and packed full of flavour. Proper grub cooked to order and mouth wateringly satisfying and don’t even get me started on their sorbets – especially The Filthy Banana: homemade banana sorbet with rum, Kahlua and crushed hobnobs, need I say more?

The choice of craft beers, as the perfect accompaniment, is just as impressive. Add the haggis fritters to your order or a side of mac & cheese, then sit back in their stylishly rustic decor and eat and enjoy!
As well as amazing cocktails, Sygn’s food menu is worth a look at too and they have some darn fine burgers to choose from. They serve them pink and juicy for maximum flavour, so if you prefer yours well done then remember to ask.
Hard Rock Cafe
The Hard Rock Café in Edinburgh is a fun and vibrant place to hang out just to feast your eyes on all the cool memorabilia and sing along to the all-time classics they pump out, but add a burger and a cocktail and you pretty much have a perfect evening. Again the portion sizes are huge, so pace yourself.
A second Edinburgh branch of Byron has just opened on Lothian Road so you will be even more spoilt for choice of where to go. They do their burgers simply and properly with squishy buns, best and fresh ingredients, traditional accompaniments and pickle on the side. How burgers should be!
