Fortuna Coffee Bar is a little gem that could be too easily missed. It sits on Queen Street and we were lucky to spot it as we glanced over driving by. I was in the area for my son’s theory test (he passed, yay!), and he wanted to treat me to brunch (also yay!).
There was actually plenty of parking outside so we nabbed a spot and headed on in.
Inside we also managed to grab the last table. Our lucky day? We thought so!
The menu was more extensive than I’d expected with lots of healthy options too. Of course my son was not interested in the healthy options and treated himself to the Scrambled Eggs on Toast with a pile of Crisp Streaky Bacon. Oh to be young with a fast metabolism! He said it was delicious and it was good to see him relax after such a nerve wracking morning.
I chose the Hazelnut Toast which was a colourful selection of fresh berries, mixed seeds, and of course hazelnut praline toast. The coffee was great quality and there were plenty of other dishes on the menu to work your way through if you end up being a regular.
A great place to take your laptop if you need to work. The staff were super friendly and it was just a really cool place to hang out. We’ll definitely be back.
